The current California Governor and former robot-from-the-future is on a diplomatic mission in Asia.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is America’s most internationally famous Governor/movie star. And with the California economy looking as desolate as ever, he’s taking a weeklong tour through asia, door-to-door salesman style, selling California almonds, wine and the hollywood lifestyle.
The South Korean press headlined Arnold’s visit to Seoul yesterday, calling him the “Terminator governor.” Arnold is a hustler disguised in the suit and tie of a diplomat, liberally using his Hollywood star attraction.
And to the crowds of Asian citizens, he’s banking on being seen as that machine sent from the future to save the human race: before pacing from the stage in a completely packed department store, he left the crowd cheering with his catchphrase of choice: “I’ll be back.”
The state of California has a $19 billion-dollar budget deficit that’s accumulating $50 million in interest, daily. And, in a pinch, pride often sits backseat to necessity.
Everyone watch as Governor Schwarzenegger hikes up a leg of his suit pants with a teasing look in his eye, revealing to all of Asia just a little bit of skin.

This is funny, but kind of cutting. If you were being totally fair you'd cut him some slack for creative problem solving.

We were a little bit hard on Schwarz here, sure. But he has, what? A 40% approval rating? If that? You know what will improve his standing in California. Three simple words: Kindergarten Cop Two.
