Jeff Sessions admits grabbing women by the pussy is sexual assault

Jeff Sessions must have had a major revelation between his Tuesday confirmation hearing for the attorney general post in the Trump cabinet and last October when the Alabama senator talked to the Weekly Standard and discussed his would-be boss’s “grab em by the pussy” Access Hollywood tape.

“My question is very simple,” Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) asked during Tuesday’s confirmation hearing. “Is grabbing a woman by the genitals without her consent sexual assault?”

“Yes,” said Sessions.

What prompted Leahy to even ask? Back in October, Sessions went on defense for candidate Trump after being caught on tape bragging about sexual assault.

When asked by a Weekly Standard reporter following a presidential debate in October:

SESSIONS: This was very improper language, and he’s acknowledged that.

TWS: But beyond the language, would you characterize the behavior described in that as sexual assault if that behavior actually took place?

SESSIONS: I don’t characterize that as sexual assault. I think that’s a stretch. I don’t know what he meant—

Oh, what a difference being under oath for a cabinet post makes. Apparently it’s not such a stretch to call unwanted sexual touching a crime when sitting in front of a senate committee.

Sessions also stated that the president-elect is subject to the same “lawful restrictions” as any other citizen. “The president is subject to certain lawful restrictions,” said Sessions, “and they would be required to be applied by the appropriate law enforcement official if appropriate, yes.”

Yeah, we’ll see how that plays out.
