Horrifying footage surfaces of Richard Rojas’s Times Square car attack
Graphic surveillance footage of 26-year-old Richard Rojas plowing his maroon Honda Accord into tourists in Times Square on Thursday has surfaced. The Navy veteran killed 18-year-old tourist Alyssa Elsman. Her 13-year-old sister was among the 22 victims injured.
The Bronx resident is expected to appear in court Friday on charges of second-degree murder, attempted murder, and vehicular homicide. It’s believed that he was high on the synthetic marijuana brand K2 and deliberately meant to kill the people he was running down and ultimately be killed by cops himself. The horrific footage seems to corroborate Rojas’s intent.
Police do not believe that the attack was affiliated with any terror organizations.
