Hooray For Earth Stream New Track

The NYC/ Cambridge, MA collective Hooray for Earth streams a new single from their forthcoming record “True Loves”.

Hooray For Earth will release their first full length, “True Loves,” on May 10, the follow-up to last year’s “Momo” EP. Today the band streams a new teaser track from the record, called “Sails.”

From what we’ve heard so far of the full-length, which is just two songs, “True Loves” promises to be ebullient, exalted and synth-heavy. The band seems to have about as much use for guitars as they did on the “Momo” EP (which is about none, save for blistering guitar solo on “Comfortable Comfortable” that sounds like the end of Prince’s “Let’s Go Craazy”).

“Sails” finds Hooray for Earth on a slightly darker bent than we’re used to hearing from them, but don’t worry—the minor-chord synth arpeggio turns reasonably upbeat midway through.

Hooray For Earth tours this month with A Place to Bury Strangers. Take a listen to “Sails,” and see below for tour dates.
