Sure, you might die, but at least then you won’t have to worry about your partner getting all clingy.
Thanks to the brilliant work of Doctors at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA people are finally being warned about the dangers of irregular physical activity.
According to Reuters, recent studies are revealing that, “Sudden bursts of moderate to intense physical activity — such as jogging or having sex — significantly increase the risk of having a heart attack, especially in people who do not get regular exercise, U.S. researchers said on Tuesday.”
In other words, people who are out of shape shouldn’t pretend that they’re in shape because they’re not, and they could get hurt. If common sense hadn’t helped you figure that one out already, now there are doctors saying it, so it’s truer than ever.
The study seems to be centered around sex, and the physical nature of the act itself. I’m not sure if this was done simply to make the study more marketable or if there was a common misconception that during sex your heart enters some kind of sexual safety-zone, but whatever the case, it’s the angle they took. According to the study, people are “2.7 times more likely to get a heart attack when they are having sex or immediately afterward compared with when they are not.”
In other words, people are more likely to have a heart attack while participating in physical activity rather than while they’re just sitting on a couch — another shocking revelation.
I’m not sure how this study was approved or who provided the funding but I need to get in touch with them, because I’ve really been wanting to do more research on how staying under water for extended periods of time can lead to brain injury and even death.
