Wu-Tang Clan vet and all-around badass Ghostface Killah gets his own brew. Staten Island rejoice!
Boulder, Colorado’s Twisted Pine Brewing Company are readying the Cinco de Mayo release of their new “Ghost Face Killah” brew — “a six peppered beer dry hopped with Ghost Peppers, the hottest peppers in the world.”
Notice the space in the beer’s title. Whereas the Wu-Tang guru spells his name Ghostface, the brew adds a space between the two words. The discrepancy stems from the rapper never giving the beer an official endorsement. Twisted Pine attempted to reach him in order to create a partnership for the release but never received an answer.
To be fair Ghost isn’t fully responsible for the name, as the beer is brewed by adding “Bhut Jolokia, a pepper so hot it can be weaponized, and one sometimes referred to as ‘ghost pepper.’ ” Still, the nod to the Staten Island MC is obvious.
Just saying, but if we were to name a beer after Ghost we would’ve probably chosen a more interesting title — ‘Ghost’s Nutmeg‘ maybe? ‘Shakey Dog‘?? ‘The Grain‘???
