Bill O’Reilly debated Jon Stewart on his show earlier this week, and O’Reilly’s own results are in: Stewart 1, O’Reilly 0.
Earlier this week Jon Stewart delivered a satisfying defeat to Bill O’Reilly when he debated the Fox News anchor about Common’s invitation to the White House. As if Stewart’s performance in the debate weren’t enough, Bill O’reilly site is now voluntarily displaying the cold, hard truth: Even O’Reilly’s viewers think Stewart absolutely spanked him.
Huffington Post noticed earlier today that O’Reilly had conducted a poll on his own site, with over 72,000 of his readers participating. Thats’ a big number—and a tiny margin of error. With the poll closed, as you can see below, Stewart took the debate in a clean sweep. Every single state. If this were a presidential contest O’Reilly’s would have performed worse than Michael Dukakis.
Sometimes it’s okay to gloat—especially if you’re just joining in the the loser in trumpeting his own defeat.

Dear Mr. O’reilly, I do not like Jon Stewart because of his far left views and will not watch his show. However I saw a different Jon Stewart on your show for the so called debate. It was more of a gentlemans duel with no loaded pistols.Neithor of you was out to disrespect each other. I rather enjoyed his wit and saw the comedian side of him.Good show. The Factor is still King!!! Larry,Tupper Lake,NY

I do like Jon Stewart, but I have a surprising appreciation of your comment here. The nuance of not liking Jon Stewart’s political beliefs but appreciating a good debate is something not seen all too often. I admit I may have overgeneralized about the Factor’s audience–didn’t imagine its members–even some–were capable of this. But I can admit being wrong. Great comment!

It is nice to hear that you enjoyed Stewart’s witty sense of humor…you see what happens when you remove the ideological goggles! Watch his show, you’ll see more of that ”comedian” side of him…you do know it is a comedic show, right???

@d9f05d107f50efb8b1dc43f0a82f0a02:disqus I will admit that I am a big of Jon Stewart, so my opinion is biased. However, more than his comedic side, I enjoy his ability to respectfully and thoughtfully debate public figures and intellectuals. I highly recommend his full length interviews of guests on his show, available through his website. They have given me the opportunity to hear from people on the political right who I would not otherwise be exposed to, at least not without people shouting and making outrageous accusations. I remember Mike Huckabee has made several appearances and expressed himself very well.

You don’t have to watch the Daily Show to see Stewart’s interviews:

This is the Internet.
Parenthetically, Stewart stays near the center, and runs about as far left as Eisenhower, if that.

This is a joke, right?
