Yesterday, Disney announced that they're canceling At The Movies, the show that gained widespread viewership in the years that Roger Ebert served as one of its two critics-in-residence, first alongside Gene Siskel and then with Richard Roeper after Siskel's death in 1999. Today, Ebert announced that he'll be filling the new critics-meet-television void with a new show, which will be produced by both him and his wife, Chaz.
Yesterday, Disney announced that they’re canceling At The Movies, the show that gained widespread viewership in the years that Roger Ebert served as one of its two critics-in-residence, first alongside Gene Siskel and then with Richard Roeper after Siskel’s death in 1999. Today, Ebert announced that he’ll be filling the new critics-meet-television void with a new show, which will be produced by both him and his wife, Chaz.
The show’s working title is Roger Ebert Presents At The Movies. While he can’t disclose too much about it, he has said that the new show will indeed utilize his characteristic thumbs-up/thumbs-down rating system, which he took with him when he left At The Movies.
Viewer interest in the show is more or less guaranteed, based on the responses to Ebert’s recent appearance on Oprah and profile in Esquire.
